The Curtis Parent Organization (CPO) is a nonprofit organization, run by volunteers, comprised of parents and guardians of Ephraim Curtis Middle School students.
Our mission is to support the school with volunteers and funding for events and activities, enrichment programs, scholarships, and items for the teachers, staff, and administration that will enrich students’ experiences.
Our primary goals are to:
- Provide scholarships for students
- Offer cultural and creative enrichment programs
- Fund items not covered in the SPS budget
- Thank the teachers, staff, and administration with appreciation events
- Foster a sense of community within our school

Social Media & Your Kids - With Max Stossel
Max Stossel is an award-winning poet, filmmaker, and speaker, named by Forbes as one of the best storytellers of the year. Max is also the Founder & CEO of Social Awakening, an organization dedicated to helping young people survive and thrive in this modern, digital world.
During this Parents Talk, Max will:
- Illustrate some of the specific ways technology is designed to be addictive & distracting
- Highlight how that's impacting our minds
- Give an overview of how students are using social media
- Provide recommendations on how to improve focus and diminish distraction in learning environments.
Join us on March 5th at 7:00 PM at the Ephraim Curtis Middle School Auditorium. This talk is parent focused, but students are welcome. RSVP here.
This project is funded in part through the Christine Gallery Community Benefit Grant Program. We are also incredibly grateful for the generous support of our local community partners, Sudbury Public Health, Goodnow Library, Camp Sewataro, Child Therapy Boston, Sudbury Family Network and Turning Life On.

The CPO has an annual budget of $25,000, which we use to support cultural, creative, and educational programming at Curtis. A majority of our funds come from directory sales, business sponsorships, Curtis gear sales, textile donations, school kit sales, and interest on income.
35% of our annual budget comes directly from Curtis families.
Over the next few weeks, we want to reach our annual fundraising target by raising $3,000.
Please consider a tax-deductible donation of $15-$20 to help us meet our annual fundraising goal. If even a third of Curtis families donate, we will easily meet this goal! Your money goes directly to work for the students and for the school, improving your child’s learning experience.
We're close to 20% of our goal already. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far!
Please note that donation acknowledgment letters will be provided by request only. If you require a letter for tax purposes, please email a request to cpotreasurer@gmail.com.

Earn Money for the CPO
10/5/2025 7:07 pm
The CPO earns money by filling the textile bins located in the Curtis parking lot. A check is sent to the CPO based upon the weight of the monthly donations.
The company takes footwear, clothing, linens, and stuffed animals. When cleaning out, bring those bags of textiles to the bins to earn money for the CPO! Please remember to bag your donations.
