The Curtis Parent Organization (CPO) is a volunteer organization comprised of parents and guardians of Ephraim Curtis Middle School students. Our primary purpose is to advocate for and promote the education and general welfare of all students. We provide enrichment programs to enhance our students’ education. We fund teacher’s wish list items to help teachers teach more effectively and thereby enhance our students’ education. We sponsor grade-level events for students. In addition, we support the teachers, staff and administration that make an enormous impact on our children daily.
In order to fund the above-mentioned programs, the CPO has two main fundraisers: the Annual Appeal (request for donations are included in the back to school forms packet, however, you can donate online at the CPO webstore anytime) and Curtis Madness (our spring casual auction fundraiser).
The CPO holds six meetings throughout the school year in the Curtis cafeteria. During these meetings, we receive updates from the principal, CPO sub-committees and community members. Generally, a speaker shares relevant information with us and we share school-related information with one another.
Ways to Help
The CPO provides many opportunities to serve, volunteer, and be an active member of your children’s educational team. We can use your help in vast and varied ways and look forward to working with you to enhance the community of Curtis Middle School!
The CPO strives to keep Curtis families informed. The Curtis Messenger Newsletter is sent out to parents on Tuesdays. We also provide information in the CPO Section of Mr. Mela’s Curtis Connection on Fridays. Finally, we keep our website as up-to-date as possible.
